Pharm-line
Started
in 1978 as a co-operative venture between UK regional medicines information
centres, Pharm-line® is a bibliographic database on pharmacy practice
and the clinical use of drugs which now comprises about 170,000 abstracts
from major English language pharmaceutical and medical journals.
About 11,000 new records are added each year.
All
the abstracts are indexed for efficient retrieval, using keywords
from the specially-developed Pharm-line
Thesaurus. The Thesaurus is also used by many medicine information
pharmacists to index their in-house information.
Pharm-line
is available to both NHS and other subscribers at the Pharm-line
website. Non-subscribers may search a sample of the database
for evaluation.
Dialog
Corp also offers on-line access as the LINE
file on Datastar and File
174 on Dialog, both with weekly updates.
