Call for papers: oral and poster presentations

You are invited to submit an abstract for the 32nd UKMi Conference Oral Communication and Poster sessions. Any topic of relevance to medicines information or clinical pharmacy practice or research can be submitted for presentation. Topics presented at the last UKMi conference included:

Practice research:  Complexity indicators for medicines information enquiries
Pharmacy practice: Preventing clots safely – an audit of clopidogrel use
Training: The new NVQ/SVQ technician qualification: meeting the medicines information training needs
Quality initiatives:  Effect of a peer review system on the standard of enquiry answering
Service developments: Development of an enquiry screening system for MI technicians

Servier Laboratories Limited, in association with the College of Pharmacy Practice, will award prizes of £250 each for the best oral presentation and poster.

Publication

All submissions accepted for presentation will be published in the Conference Proceedings and on the UKMi website post-conference.

Important dates

Closing date for submissions: Monday 31st July 2006
Notification of acceptance date: Monday 7th August 2006
Date Powerpoint presentations for oral sessions to be submitted: Monday 4th September 2006

Further Information

Oral presentations will take place on the morning of the 15th September 2006. Presenters will be allocated ten minutes to deliver their presentation followed by five minutes question time. Full audiovisual facilities will be available.

Posters will be displayed during two exhibition sessions on Thursday 14th and Friday 15th September 2006. They will be displayed on panels 2m high and 1.2m wide. Lettering should be legible at a distance of 2m.
