UKMi Training
The Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme (MIATP)
The Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme (MIATP) for pharmacy technicians, replaces the old UKMI Accredited Medicines Information Technicians Training Scheme (AMITTS). MIATP has been produced in collaboration with UKMI and is delivered by Pharmacy Workforce Development South (PWDS).
MIATP is a national programme for the formal training and assessment of pharmacy technicians working in MI. The programme aims to equip pharmacy technicians with the required knowledge, skills, competence and confidence to be able to answer certain categories of MI enquiries without a further check.
Learners should apply for the training programme via the PWDS website. Please note that spaces are limited, the programme will have three intakes per year.
Supplementary Accreditation for existing MI Pharmacy Technicians
The MIATP Supplementary Accreditation is available for pharmacy technicians who have previously completed the UKMI - Accredited Medicines Information Technician Training Scheme (AMITTS) or the Medicines Information and Advice Training Programme (MIATP).
The programme allows existing MI Pharmacy Technicians to expand their accreditation to cover additional enquiry types.
Learners should apply for the training programme via the PWDS website. A rolling start offers flexibility for participants to join when it's convenient for them.
